Bored

I'm bored so decided to come in to add an entry to my blog. I'm bored of everything recently. Altho there's still alot of work left undone, I havent been doing much this week (and it's already Fri tmr!) but just staring at some bits of it for a while each day. Boring boring boring.

Summer sale just started and I've already spent so much only on the first 2 days!!! Broke broke broke. I still have lots to buy, but where has my money gone to?! Lots lots and lots more... [I want to hibernate at home to stop all the shopping.... but it's the sale... how can i...?!]

Had japanese lunch with David (my prof) yesterday in town. Amazed by how little he eats and how much he can say over lunch. Amazed by his brand new merc... Really cool and high-tech! Plus the car plate with his initials on! Gosh... Wonder when will I have such spare cash to splurge on such things. When when when!

Most of the people ard me are going off for the Summer holidays or going home this week or next. And i am starting to regret not going back home earlier and be stuck here. Anyway, pretty much no choice but to wait till 20th August now. And it will be work work and work again till then.

I've been getting lazy recently. Lazy to cook, lazy to clean the house, lazy to do work, lazy to go on diet which i desperately need. Practically lazy to do anything. Nothing seems to interest me. O probably shopping does, but only for that moment; afterwhich I dont enjoy looking at the card bills on my statement. Anyway i'm pretty much sick of this lifestyle for now. Perhaps a change will be good. But what change can i make? Thought of shifting house this two days and David suggested that i shift to the park near campus. Probably he thinks that will make me go to office more often or probably he wants to go for park-walking and lunch with me more often. Anyway i dont fancy staying near campus because that will be even more boring. So this means i'm pretty much going to stay as what i am now.

Hai... ... ...

Guess i'm posting a rubbish entry this time.

Random

Realised I havent been posting any photos lately, so decided to post some random pictures took recently... (but they are all not taken by me.. hehee.. I'm just stealing photos)

Home-made 5oz Burger!
Big serving of chef salad x2
A walk by the Trent River near our place... ...
Destination at the end of the river walk: Electronics megastore (where my laptop is bought!) Hahaa... Could have driven there in 5 min, but decided to walk by the river since the weather is quite good...

Announcements:

1. I've passed my first year and progress to the second year successfully on 17th June 2008!

2. I bought a new laptop for myself!

3. I'm sick =(

(1) Although I thought I've performed poorly for my presentation and Q&A, I passed! (Probably because the assessor is handsome and nice.. hohoho and probably because he's my 'friend'). But this nice young doctor is leaving soon and he won't be around next year to be my assessor =( Hai...

Anyway report writing, presentations and meetings will stop for now (as least for one month I hope)... And I'm now back to my work: Programming, statistical analysis, monte carlo and option valuation!! Eww this will be my "homework" while my supervisors go off for their Summer holidays, leaving me here mugging. Can I finish all in one month? Of course not! I am not a genius or mathematician like the REST... Especially an idiot like me in programming and stats!

(2) To my new laptop... hehee.. I just bought a SONY laptop. This will speed up all my programs and running of the mega softwares! YEAH! And it has a big screen for me to analysis my data too! Hopefully that will save my eyes and prevent it from deteriorating further... ... ...

(3) And now when everything is over, I'm sick. Reminds me of the previous year when I fell sick right after my exams and went for my Summer tour with swollen eyes. It's probably the cumulative outcome of the whole semester's work.

That's all for now.

Back to my C++ again... ... ... (One last complain: Why am I such an idiot in programming code? I desperately need to catch up with the rest of the GUYS!) Arrrggghhh...

Energy-efficient-beings

It was another Sunday over the weekend and I went to my Professor's house for lunch this time. Amazed by the house and BIG BIG garden. Looks like a mansion rather than a house. Or I should say it looks more like a farm-house with their neighbour's horses, cows and hens. Anyway it feels pretty overwhelming at first because except for my Professor's wife, the rest are all guys - 8 guys in total plus me and Prof's wife in the cosy English-style lounge chatting. More like a businessmen meeting instead! Anyway the food was nice, especially the cheesecake and fresh prawns =P.. hehee so I was indulging in food and listening to the rest till the Prof's wife came over to entertain me. She's a nice lady and very very small size.. just like me! Haha (and I suspect that's the reason why I think my Professor likes me).. Anyway we were just chatting and she said something that sounds interesting. She said she always think small people like us are energy-efficient because our input (food) is less than the others, but our output (in intellectual terms I suppose since she's also a Professor) are the same and might be more if we're hardworking. So we're the energy-efficient-and-saving-beings. Sounds rather silly but it's true, isn't it?
